More Horse Cupcakes... but Different :) - May 2010

My daughter, Cara, wanted to have a horse theme for her birthday party.  So, I made these horse cupcakes for her to celebrate her birthday with her 5th grade class at school.

After I baked and cooled the cupcakes completely, I iced them with vanilla buttercream icing.  Then, I put some chocolate buttercream in a piping bag and piped the horses on freehand.

Cara really liked the cupcakes, and she enjoyed sharing them with her class and teachers.Andrea - Animated Name

Cake Assist: Baby Rattle Cake - May 2010

My mom was making a baby shower cake for someone, and she asked if I could help her out with part of it.  She was making a 3D baby rattle and asked if I could make the handle.  Then she would take it and attach it to the ball part of the rattle that she was making from cake.

Lizard Cupcakes - April 2010

I made these lizard cupcakes for my son, Caleb, to celebrate his birthday with his 2nd grade class at school.

First I baked, cooled, and iced the cupcakes.  I used buttercream icing that I tinted green to pipe the outline of the lizard on and then fill it in.  I used red buttercream icing to pipe on the tongues, and I used some white icing to make the white part of the eyes.  I used dark purple nonpareils (little ball sprinkles) to make the pupil of the eyes.

Caleb liked these little lizard cupcakes and so did his class!Andrea - Animated Name

Cake Assist: Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Cake... - January 2010

My mom was making a baby shower cake for someone, and she asked if I could help her by doing the hand painting on it.  The shower coordinated with some nursery rhyme plates and napkins, so my mom asked me to paint three of the scenes on some circles of fondant for her.  After I was finished she took the fondant circles home, placed them on the cakes she had baked and iced, and finished decorating around them.

Paint Me a Picture - January 2010

I made this vase of roses cake for my sister, Casandra's, birthday, along with all the watercolor painting themed stuff around it.  She loves to paint, especially with watercolors.  So, I thought this would be cute for her like she was painting a picture of a vase of roses.
