A Cake That's Out of This World! - June 2010

I made this soloar system cake for my daughter, Cara's, 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher.

  1. I love this cake! How did you make the cakes into the shape of a ball? I have been trying to find a good way to do this, and thought about making something similar to cake-pops? Is that what you've done? Thanks!

    1. Anonymous - Thanks! :) The only thing that is actually made from cake is the sun, which I used a Wilton ball pan for. The little planets are just made from fondant. This was before I had really seen cake balls/pops. I think that would be a great way to make the planets though [and definitely tastier :) ]; if I were making this again, I would definitely make them out of cake balls. :) Thanks again!
