I made these Valentine heart cookies for my son, Caleb's, 3rd grade class Valentine's Day party.
To make these cookies I followed the directions on the sugar cookie mix to make cut-out cookies. While the dough was mixing I added a little bit of red food coloring to it to make the dough pink. I rolled out the dough and cut my hearts shapes out with a cookie cutter. I baked the cookies and let them cool completely. Then I put some vanilla buttercream icing in a piping bag and used a round tip to pipe on my designs (I think I used a #4, but a #3 would probably have worked better, I just couldn't find mine).
I really like the way these cookies turned out, like little old-school valentines. :) Caleb enjoyed sharing them with his class at the party.
(I created my animated name at this site.)
