I made this 3D lightsaber cake for my son, Caleb's, 7th birthday. This was at the same party as the 3D R2-D2 cake I made for him (see the This is the Droid Cake You're Looking For... post).
The lightsaber really lit up! :)

How did you get it to light up?
ReplyDeletePrincess C - Sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks for your question. The blade of the lightsaber is made out of a tube of thin hollow fondant. Inside part of the hilt I secured a mini flashlight that I could access from a hole underneath the cake board to turn it on and off. (Unfortunately, the flashlight I used ended up being glitch-y and wasn't as bright as I wanted.)
