Cake Assist: Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Cake... - January 2010

My mom was making a baby shower cake for someone, and she asked if I could help her by doing the hand painting on it.  The shower coordinated with some nursery rhyme plates and napkins, so my mom asked me to paint three of the scenes on some circles of fondant for her.  After I was finished she took the fondant circles home, placed them on the cakes she had baked and iced, and finished decorating around them.

This picture my mom took at the shower turned out a bit blurry, but it still shows how cute the cakes looked on the table.

More pictures and details to come!  :)

  3. Amazing work, seriously gorgeous! On a selfish side note...I'm now in love with this theme for an upcoming baby shower..any idea where the plate came from?

  4. Thanks! :) I'm pretty sure they were from Hobby Lobby, but I can ask to double check. I think they also had them with brown and blue. Online I've seen some all in pink or all in blue, no brown on them. I think you could just search 'nursery rhyme toile plates' to find some sites if you're interested in those. Thanks again, and hope the shower goes well; it is a beautiful theme. :)
