Switchfoot Themed Cake Balls - October 2013

These are cake balls I made for the band members of Switchfoot and their crew as part of the Switchfoot Baking Club.  I decorated them with various 'Switchfoot themed' items, and brought them to their Fading West movie viewing and concert back in October.

[The little picture of the guitar to the side is a correction on one of the guitars that I had made that I delivered at a later date.  I got it wrong and it bugged me. ;) ]

More pictures and details to come... :)

[Right now I'm just trying to get everything on the blog, then I'll go back and fill in details; you can read a little longer explanation here if you want. BUT if you have any questions in the meantime, in general or about this cake, please feel free to email me by clicking on the 'Contact Me' tab at the top of the page and using the email address found there, and I will try to get back with you as soon as possible. Or you can always ask questions or leave a comment about this cake by clicking the comments link at the end of this post. :)]

Cake in the Key of G - October 2006

I made this guitar cake for my husband, Ronnie's, birthday. I wanted to try to make it look like his guitar.

Below is a picture of Ronnie's guitar next to the cake guitar.

I baked a cake in a 9x13 pan and then cut the different parts of the guitar I needed from that and pieced them together.  So, the guitar is all made from cake iced with buttercream; the details were piped on using buttercream icing also.  Instead of piping the strings with icing though, I decided to use dry spaghetti to make them look more like guitar strings.
